South Africa is known for Rooibos and Honey Bush tea with several tea estates producing black tea. Most of the black tea is consumed locally. Rooibos and Honeybush teas are very common throughout South Africa
Africa is one of the major tea producers. Most of the tea connoisseurs are familiar with names like Assam, Ceylon, Darjeeling, Fujian, yet when Kenya is mentioned coffee is the first word that is associated . In 1998 Kenya was the largest black tea exporter in the World. Many Indian teas are blended with African teas from Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe.
